Part of her brilliance is her ability to make something that sounds so stupid, cardigans worn under tweed dresses, necklines so low they are slipping off of the shoulders, and make it utterly magical once you see it in person (or on style.com in my case).
There is something earthy and magical about these pieces. Hardscrabble glamour maybe? I love the sequins and the tweed, the skirts with godet inserts of chiffon and gossamer.
And especially this final look. Who wouldn't want to be her? Granted Daphne Groenveld is roughly half my age, but since Muccia consistently books models in their forties I'm guessing this is also a look she sees on a middle-aged lady.
Anyone else mentally drafting these coat sleeves, or the skirts in their heads?
