Cocktail Frocks on the Rio Grande

My best friend's husband took us along with him as he fished the Rio Grande (well, actually the Red River, but it turns into the Rio Grande about half a mile down stream).  Obviously it seemed like a good chance to put on my new dress, some high-heels, red lippie, and do an impromtu sewing shoot.

 Fishing Widows!
Thanks New Mexico, for everything.

Found you on Sew Retro too. I love your version, making it with stripes was a bold move and it looks great :) I have also made this dress and the inward tucks weren't going to work for me either, so I made them into outward tucks. Maybe more like a single outwards-facing pleat but in the same area on each side.

This is beautiful, so amazing to make that beauty out of a table cloth! The pictures of New Mexico are beautiful. I am visiting my sister there this summer and I am more excited than ever:)
